Post-Thigh Lift Care
Drain Removal Time
- Your drains will be removed 5 to 7 days after surgery.
Use of Girdle
- Wear the body girdle for 3 to 4 weeks to help protect the skin, especially if liposuction was also performed.
Mobility and Exercise
- Light exercise is usually recommended as it helps the healing process and reduces the likelihood of blood clot formation.
- Avoid strenuous exercises.
- Dr. Hadi Amali will advise you on the appropriate time to return to normal activities.
Medication Restrictions
Avoid consuming the following for 3 to 4 days after surgery:
- Alcoholic beverages.
- Aspirin.
- Blood-thinning medications.
Wound Care (First Week)
- During the first week after surgery, use antibiotic ointments on the wound sites.
- Clean the wound sites with saline solution.
Scar Prevention
- Two weeks after surgery, to prevent scarring, use specialized silicone tape and cream on the wounds for 3 to 6 months.
- Note: Using silicone tape and cream on open wounds is not recommended.
- Laser treatment of wound sites (2 months after surgery) is very useful for removing unsightly scars.
Movement Restrictions
After surgery, avoid the following:
- Long walks.
- Excessive opening of the legs.
- Stretching movements.
- Activities that cause tension on the suture sites.
Normal Symptoms After Surgery
The following are normal in the first weeks and usually subside gradually:
- Swelling.
- Bruising.
- Feeling of tightness.
- Numbness or tingling in the thigh area and around the surgical site.
- To see the final result of the surgery, you must wait until the swelling completely subsides.
Incision and Suture Care
- Keep the incision and suture sites clean and dry.
- Avoid manipulating or scratching them.
Drain Care (If Present)
- If a drain is present, do not manipulate or remove it yourself.
- Check the amount and condition of discharges according to the doctor's instructions.
- The time for drain removal is determined by the doctor.
Mobility and Blood Clot Prevention
- To reduce the risk of blood clots, avoid absolute bed rest.
- According to the doctor's advice, walk regularly and for short periods starting from the first few days after surgery.
- Also avoid prolonged sitting or immobility.
Appropriate Clothing
- In the first few days after surgery, avoid wearing very tight clothes or clothes that cause friction and direct pressure on the suture sites, unless it is the girdle prescribed by the doctor.
Final Note: Thigh lift requires adherence to movement restrictions in the first weeks and careful care of suture sites to achieve the desired result and reduce scarring. Strict adherence to the above points and patience during the recovery period play a key role in the success of the surgery.
