Post-Liposuction and BBL (Brazilian Butt Lift) Care

Use of Compression Girdle

  • You must wear the special compression girdle for two months after body liposuction surgery.
    • First Month: Wear the girdle around the clock (24 hours a day).
    • Second Month: Wear the girdle only during daytime hours.

Massage of Surgical Areas

  • Massage the surgical areas two to three times daily for three weeks using Vaseline or olive oil.

Showering

  • You may shower two days after surgery.
  • Showers should be taken with lukewarm (or cool) water using baby shampoo.
  • To prevent absorption of the injected fat in the buttocks, always ensure you shower with lukewarm or cool water.
  • Do not use saunas, jacuzzis, or tanning beds (solariums) for three months after surgery.

Physical Activity

  • You may begin light exercises one month after surgery.
  • Wait at least two months after surgery before engaging in strenuous sports.

Nutrition and Diet

  • Your diet must include protein.
  • Salt intake must be kept very low during the first month after surgery.
  • It is recommended to drink sufficient fluids and follow a balanced, protein-rich diet.
  • Avoid strict and restrictive diets during the recovery period.

Swelling and Final Results

  • In the first weeks after surgery, your body will experience swelling, which is normal.
  • Three weeks after surgery, body swelling begins to gradually subside.
  • The final result of the surgery is visible three months after the procedure.

Special Care After Fat Grafting to the Buttocks

Sleeping and Sitting Positions

  • For up to six weeks after fat grafting to the buttocks, you must sleep on your stomach.
  • Do not sit directly on your buttocks under any circumstances; instead, use a special sitting cushion (donut pillow).

Buttock Swelling and Firmness

  • For up to four weeks after fat grafting to the buttocks, your buttocks will be swollen and firm.
  • After four weeks, the buttocks will gradually return to their natural state (softer texture).

Injection Prohibitions in the Buttocks

  • After fat grafting to the buttocks, no needle injections should be administered in the buttock area.
  • Instead, injections should be given in the arm or thigh.

Fat Absorption Rate

  • At least 30 to 50 percent of the injected fat will be absorbed and disappear.

Use of Diapers (Absorbent Pads)

  • After body liposuction, it is recommended to use diapers (or absorbent pads) on the abdomen and flanks for 7 to 10 days.

Mobility and Blood Clot Prevention

  • Avoid absolute bed rest and take regular, short walks as much as possible starting from the first days after surgery.
  • Walking helps reduce the risk of blood clot formation.
  • Also avoid prolonged standing or sitting.

Smoking Prohibition

  • You must refrain from smoking, hookah (shisha), and hormonal medications for at least 2 to 3 weeks before surgery.
  • To avoid damaging the injected fat cells, refrain from smoking for 3 to 4 weeks after surgery.

Incision Site Care

  • Keep surgical incision sites clean and dry.
  • A small amount of discharge or serous fluid in the first few days may be normal.

Warning Symptoms (Contact Doctor Immediately)

If you observe any of the following, contact your doctor immediately:

  • Significant bleeding.
  • Foul-smelling or purulent discharge.
  • Increasing redness and warmth.
  • Wound dehiscence (opening).
  • Severe and unusual pain.

Medications

  • Take medications prescribed by your doctor exactly as instructed.
  • Avoid self-medicating with drugs such as aspirin, ibuprofen, naproxen, and other medications affecting blood clotting unless approved by your doctor.

Driving

  • Refrain from driving until the effects of painkillers have worn off and you are able to fully control the vehicle and perform necessary movements without pain or restriction.

Final Note: Liposuction combined with fat grafting to the buttocks is a composite surgery requiring multifaceted care and patience during the recovery period. Strict adherence to the above points, especially consistent use of the compression girdle, daily massage, and maintaining correct sleeping and sitting positions, plays a key role in achieving a desirable and lasting result.
